- Focus on one subtopic at a time
While making a bite-sized educational video, the key is to focus on one subtopic at a time. Let’s understand this with an example: While teaching about different types of numbers, you can make short videos explaining each type of number- integers, natural numbers, whole numbers, rational numbers, irrational numbers and real numbers. You can then create another video that just explains the differences among these types of numbers and a video that mentions similarities. Each of these video ideas represent a subtopic and only cover a small portion of the whole topic ‘Numbers’. - Skip long intros

Something like this is hard to pull off in a typical classroom or live classes without considerable pre-planning.
- Make points and summarize
A key factor to keep in mind while creating 2min content is the succinct transfer of information. Pointers are a great way to work around this hurdle because points are easy to remember, are succinct and have better recall. This helps you save time and also helps students to remember better. Try to summarize things in points rather than reading out a continuous long text. You can cover a subtopic in 3 to 7 quick pointers. To increase the retention of your video and stickiness of your content, you can summarize the points at the end of your video.
- Use props
Actions speak louder than words. This saying is applicable to bite sized content as well. Since you have less than 2min to teach, you can effectively convey your point using powerful props. They can be visuals, demonstrations, experiments and many more.
Let’s take an example: you are making a video on DNA helix structure. Now, simply listing out the details of DNA structure can be boring and take longer time. On the other hand, an image, a 3D model made of balls and sticks, or a long thread of DNA that you just took out from an onion peel can help you a great deal in explaining your point simply. Bottom line, feel free to use props: Animations, images, gifs, memes, graphics, experiments, models, objects around us and other such visuals to better explain an idea or a topic. Using props serves to make your content more attractive. It also helps your learners to remember the concepts better. Such content with appealing visuals is more likely to be etched into the memory of learners.
